Any Side of Anywhere   Run Time: 4:42

Written by Bill Mallonee for CyBrenJoJosh (BMI) ©2000

think i recognize the place but the furniture's rearranged
yeah we always stumble in here under a different name

i've panned this river for seven odd years her secret hills i've mined
yeah with my chip on my shoulder and my axe to grind
we're throwing these wishes in a cold november sky
but they hover in the corner of the ceiling of my life

you make the call if there is a call to be made at all
any side of anywhere i'm too at home in this big nowhere
any side of anywhere that's ok by me
any side of anywhere i offer up here's my new defense
any side of anywhere welcome to my new residence

yeah these paths they are straight and true much truer than our hearts
yeah where everything is a symbol out here or you're in the dark
tangled routes and intersections where circumstance collides
the only thing that keeps you going and it's the last thing on your mind

sometimes you could wish for more but these gears they keep on locking
you don't think much about what you deserve when it's just the beer that's talking
this stage is a confessional so you kneel and then begin
yeah you cross yourself those three times and step into this skin

Did You Know?

A song about life on the road and "doing what we do," according to Bill. "You don't think much about what you deserve when it's just the beer that's talking. I thought that was going to get us in all kinds of trouble, but apparently it hasn't, yet."

Appeared On…
