Happy Being Lonely, Lonely Being Happy Run Time: 4:03
Written by Bill Mallonee for CyBrenJoJosh (BMI) ©2001
me i was just a kid
with some school books in his hands
violence visits soon
but i never saw it coming
so you trace your world in blue
and every voice is loud and long
except the one inside of you
and when don't know exactly
happy being lonely lonely being happy
there's a girl all dressed in white
for her the stars they all fall down
she'll fill your room with light
and she'll never make a sound
found your candle lit the match
then the signal started breaking up
just before the crash
and where don't know exactly
happy being lonely lonely being happy
and when don't know exactly
happy being lonely lonely being happy
Did You Know?
This song is, in part, about the shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado. What's playing on the radio at the end of the song? Along with a snippet of the Vigilantes' "Real Down Town," producer Tom Lewis and Bill spun the dial of a cheap AM radio back and forth between Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura. This was Drew Grow's favorite song off of Summershine. Drew was a member of the Summershine band.
