    About Electromeo EP

With two songs recorded with Tom Lewis at his Athens studio in two days in September of 2000 ("Your Bright Future" and "Hat in Hand") and two songs recorded in England in the spring of 2000 ("Weight of Glory" and "Half Mast"), Electromeo was released December 15, 2000. These last two feature Ian Archer on acoustic guitar and lap steel. Income received from the project was used primarily to fund the band's website. The EP comes in a cardboard sleeve with additional artwork, lyrics and liner notes available as a PDF download. This additional artwork contains a photo showing Bill's uncle and two of his cousins. The release was limited to 1,000 hand-numbered copies, with 500 sold via the website and 500 sold at shows. Rumor has it Jake Bradley owns number 666.

    A Review by earthsave / Sep 4, 2001

The responses I remember from this EP when it came out were mixed. Some people loved the sound, me included, while others had mixed feelings and some just didn't like the sound.

For the most part, this EP evokes a very melancholy mood in me. The tunes "weight of glory" and "half-mast" are two very lonesome tunes. "your bright future" isn't too shabby at being lonesome itself. "...I'm losing myself and I know I'm losing you." A song about changes in life caused by the progression of time. "hat in hand" is as up beat as it gets on this EP. It has a wonderful little lick in it. Here are some of my favorite lines from these tunes.

    your bright future
"There's this little piece of you I may never see again. There's a bigger piece of me that simply vanishing"
"I'm losing myself and I know I'm losing you"

    weight of glory
"scrape the unbelief from out of these weary bones"
"no saints to be found in here"
    "...to finally be yourself"
"guard your heart never let her fade"

    hat in hand
"There's a vapor trail stretching across the Kansas sky."
"Way too much livin' in the minor key"

    half mast
"Who would have ever thought it would come to this. Who would have thought you would betray it with a kiss"
"The mirrors are all full of shame"
"and you are what I have not got"
"I need something to thin the blood"

Just my thoughts on this one.
